TURF GAMES

Introduction

Turf Games all begun in 2017 as a series of casual workouts at different gyms and studios across London. A competitive edge was added with team-based workouts and the demand to attend these one-off events rapidly grew.

Turf Games was born from this demand and the identification of a gap in the market for an inclusive competitive functional fitness event; filling the void between more ‘highly skilled’ events already in existence and one-dimensional events such as runs and cycles.

Turf Games offers a huge social benefit of working within a team completing sporting activities and the value this places on weekly training & exercise. In addition, the option to travel and explore can be offered with Turf Games as events are hold in multiple countries, with more to come!

Now why am I telling you about Turf Games? WELL… This Sunday, IRC and Aptitude fitness are teaming up with a fantastic group of people and are participating in the ‘mixed everyday category’. Ben (Aptitude Fitness) is a pro at these events, having completed many himself. But this is the first time I have participated in something like this.

Summer Turf Games is being held in Ealing, London this year and our team compromises of two of my wonderful bridesmaids, Hannah and Naomi as well as a loyal client of Bens, Rob and a Farm Fitness enthusiast, Kirk.

It will be a long day, consisting of 4 different workout stations, our first event starts at 10:29. With our second and third events at 12:34 and 14:54, respectively. And our fourth and final event is at 16:54. But we have ensured that we are all fuelled and hydrated to the best of our ability throughout the day and plan to utilise our rest time effectively and work as hard as we possibly can!

Below are the workouts that are in store for us (YIKES I’m nervous!);

Thank you for taking the time to read about out Turf Games adventure this weekend. Feel free to get in touch if you think this could be something you would be interested in doing next year!

Have a great weekend, I’m looking forward to having Monday to recover!
