FAILING TO PREPARE IS PREPARING TO FAIL

Introduction

When it comes to staying in shape, you need to have the right routine to keep things in check. For a successful fitness journey, having a workout plan that’s suited to you is hugely beneficial. This will help to improve your workout and give you the results you want.

Workout Plan?

It goes without saying, that working out can help your body become stronger and help you stay in shape. But is there any point training if it’s not something meaningful, progressed, regular and enjoyable?

A workout plan may include a variety of exercises to help you achieve your goals or those that you enjoy doing. Either way, creating a consistent routine enables you to hold yourself accountable and reap the rewards at the end.

Benefits of a workout plan

You need a well thought-out, put together plan to get the most out of your training. You wouldn’t go ahead and fix your own broken car, or cut your own hair (Covid pandemic exempt here!) but what are the benefits to you or a professional planning your training?;

  • Consistency: meaning regular training is achieved, effective exercises are completed, and goals of strength/weight loss/cardiovascular improvements are targeted. With a plan, a schedule of training is created meaning you are moving your body frequently.

  • Prevents under or over training: when waiting to improve on capacities, make sure you are doing enough exercise. But you also shouldn’t under perform as this would be counterproductive.

  • Personalisation: everyone is different, and trains different goals. Having a plan made solely for you creates effective training.

  • Balance: you need the right balance of all components to ensure you are in good condition. Planned recovery after exercise is a good way to establish a balance.

  • Structure: organisation is key, having a structured workout, not only what you do, but when you do it is how you achieve great results.

  • Goals: a plan allows for a breakdown of goals meaning they will be more achievable, and tweaks can be made along the way.

  • Prevents burnout: repetition can be boring, and results in loss motivation. Continued progression and accountability will increase motivation for exercising. Plans are altered specifically to you when issued by a professional so you can ensure you are always training within your scope.
